Autumn is a ‘Cool’ Time to Visit Mackinac Island
Autumn is a great time of the year to visit Mackinac Island; guests have the advantage of gorgeous views and weather, pleasantly cool evenings, and fewer crowds. With many of our guests leaving after the summer season, the Island moves at a calmer, almost easygoing pace, but there are still an abundant amount of events and activities for our visitors to enjoy. Those who set off on any of the available trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding will be rewarded with pristine woodlands and spectacular scenery. Climb up to Fort Mackinac, or catch the stunning view from Arch Rock.
Prefer something less strenuous? Browse the downtown shops, taking additional time at those that sell fudge! Carriage tours of Mackinac Island are a relaxing way to tour the Island. Lastly, don’t miss ‘Fire at Night: Fort Mackinac Cannon and Rifles,’ every Saturday from September 15-29. Flashes of rifle and cannon fire are juxtaposed against the breathtaking view of a Fort Mackinac sunset, for a magnificent and unique view. We can’t think of a better way to end a September evening. For more information about these or other Mackinac Island events, call us at (844) 246-0650.
