Fudging It on the Island
On August 24-26, fudge lovers (also known as “fudgies”) will descend on Mackinac Island for the Annual Mackinac Island Fudge Festival. Fudge has been a specialty here for more than a century, and Mackinac prides itself on the quality and taste of its fudge. Many of the shops on the Island produce nothing but pounds and pounds of this creamy and decadent confection, all made fresh daily in a variety of flavors. In keeping with the fudge theme, the Island features many events and activities all related to the favorite candy, such as fudge-making tastings and demonstrations, and even a Fudge Egg Hunt! There are also fudge-related food and drink pairings, fudge martinis, beer and wine pairings, and the addition of fudge treats to the Friday Market Street Art Walk. Additionally, there is magic, music, and games for the children, the Great Turtle Slow Ride, and the Sugar Sack Relay Race, along with a special outdoor showing of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” at Windermere Point. Also at the Point, don’t miss the “Three Men and a Tenor” concert. Want more information? Call us at (844) 246-0650 for details.
