Mackinac's Wondrous Biking Trails
If horse-drawn carriages, kayaks, or sailboats don’t suit you, try exploring Mackinac Island by bike. As no cars are allowed on our little isle, biking is one of the most serene ways to get from one side of Mackinac to the other. Several businesses offer shops to rent if visitors haven’t brought their own bikes across on the ferry.
The trails on Mackinac are long and beautiful, twisting through Main Street and continuing out into the wilder areas of the island. Different trails will take you by Arch Rock, Sugar Loaf, and the fort, so biking is a great way to see all of Mackinac’s wonders while still getting a great workout. Toward the end of your trip, take your bike down to the road along the beach before heading back into town, where renters can return their bikes or hold onto them for another day.
