Part of Mackinac Island’s undeniable charm is that it is directly accessible only by ferry or private or charter flight. Ferries to the island depart from Mackinaw City in Michigan’s lower peninsula and St. Ignace in the upper peninsula, docking either directly next to the hotel or within a block or two. Private and charter flights arrive at nearby Mackinac Island Airport. From there, enjoy a two-mile trip by horse-drawn taxi to the hotel.

Passage to Mackinac Island by ferry is provided by two companies – Star Line and Shepler’s. Both offer service from Mackinaw City and St. Ignace. For your convenience, when traveling from Mackinaw City, Shepler’s docks one block from the hotel and Star Line docks two blocks from the hotel.

Many guests enjoy the drive across the Mighty Mackinac Bridge to the slower-paced St. Ignace ferry docks. When departing from St. Ignace, the Star Line ferries dock directly next to Hotel Iroquois.

Please be sure to check the ferry lines’ websites for a current schedule of departures for your dates of travel.
